We are very excited at the recent results we have seen with the new Energy Star homes we have built. The last 3 new homes all tested out with a HERS (Home Energy Rating System) score of less than 50. This rating is based upon the house design, equipment specs and testing that is independently performed when the home has been completed.
What this means is that these new homes will consume less than 50% of the energy that a typical brand new home-built to current standards will use. Several recent customers have told us that their new +/- 3,000 SF home cost less than $100 to cool during this past August. How does that compare to the home you currently own?
In addition to energy savings, Energy Star homes tend to be more comfortable to live in because they are more thermally stable and are less drafty.
